Arrival At School

We expect pupils to arrive on time. Parents /carers of pupils in Reception/ Year One are permitted to escort their child to class at 8.50am. If you arrive late you will not be permitted to accompany your child into class but we will arrange for your child to be escorted from school reception.

The bell is rung at 8.55am. Children in Years 1&2 line up by their classroom door. Children in Years 3 to 6 line up in their designated place in the playground, where they are collected by their teacher.  Please do not leave children unattended in the playground before 8.50am (Breakfast Club is available from 8am).

Key Stage Two children are permitted to go into school on rainy days from 8.50am.

If you have a message for your child’s teacher please leave it with the Office Manager or make an appointment to meet with the teacher. Parents/carers and Visitors should use the main entrance door by the School office. Access to the school through the classroom doors is for staff and pupils only. This is important in ensuring the children’s safety.

All school visitors, including parents/carers, must sign in at the office and collect a visitor’s badge. Visitors must not enter the school by any other doors. Whilst on the school premises inside and out; please follow any instructions given to you by staff, they are acting in your and your child’s safety interests.

Late arrival

The late arrival of pupils causes unnecessary disruption to the classes and creates difficulties with regard to registration, dinner and the prompt start of lessons.  Any children arriving after the bell at 8.55am should report to Mrs Richards in the school office and wait until he/she is registered. If you know that your child is going to be late for some reason ie medical appointment it would help if you could let the school know in advance.
