School Sport Premium Funding
The Government has committed to providing funding of £160 million per annum until 2020 to provide new, substantial primary school sport funding.
In 2017/ 2018 we have received £17,130. This is double the funding that we have received previously and is part of the Governments use of the ‘Sugar Tax’.
In the 2016 Budget, Chancellor George Osborne announced that revenue from the soft drinks industry levy will be used to double the primary school PE and sport premium from £160 million per year to £320 million per year from September 2017. The premium should be spent on ‘making additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport’ for the benefit of all pupils to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles.
