Dodgeball

Year 3/4 2025

A team of Year 4 children took part in a dodgeball competition on Wednesday. They were absolutely brilliant! They ducked, dodged and made some excellent catches and deflections. Dodgeball is so fast and can get quite competitive! They played against 12 schools and had 11 matches during the afternoon, which must have been exhausting! The team won some matches, only had one match where they were all out (against the overall winners on the day) and gave it their all. We didn't finish in a top position this time, however it was noticeable how honest our team were when playing, if they knew they were out they came out and made no fuss at all. They were such good sports. This was even commented on by another teacher, who said it was wonderful to see such fair players. The team were a credit to the school.

Year 5/6 2025

On Wednesday, a team of Year 5 and 6 pupils went to a Dodgeball Competition at the Marches. They had a fantastic time and played in 11 highly-competitive, action-packed matches, winning 5. There were some brilliant catches, throws and very, very close dodges too! The behaviour, teamwork and sportsmanship amongst the group was outstanding. They finished in a very impressive 5th place, out of 12 schools. Great effort team!

Year 5/6

Pupils from Hawks and Puffins competed in a dodgeball tournament at The Marches and performed brilliantly, finishing second out of seven teams - winning nine and only losing three games! A massive well done to all who participated. Congratulations, we are all very proud of your efforts and you represented Trefonen amazingly well.

2024

Mrs Phillips took the Year 3/4 team to The Marches to compete in the local schools dodgeball competition. The team worked really hard and enjoyed their games. Their skills and tactics developed throughout the competition. We didn't finish in a top position this year but fun was had by all- which is the most important thing!

2023

Year 3 and 4

On the 15th of February a team of eight Year 3 and 4 pupils took part in a Dodgeball tournament, at The Marches. They were a fantastic team, who played 9 action packed games. They played: Whittington, Bryn Offa, Weston Rhyn, Our Lady’s, The Meadows, Gobowen, Criftins, Ellesmere and Holy Trinity. There were some great catches, superb throws and plenty of tactical strategizing! The team had a brilliant time and won 3 games. Thank you to The Marches for hosting this fun event and the Sports leaders for their brilliant refereeing.

Year 5 and 6 2023

A team of Year 5/6 children took part in the dodgeball competition at The Marches School. For some of our team it was the first time they had represented the school in a sports competition this year. They started nervously, but got more and more confident as the games went on. Some teams were excellent and very hard to play against- the game can be quite brutal!! The team played 10 games, winning 4 and losing 6. They all agreed that they had really enjoyed playing- with children who were nervous to begin with wanting to play every game by the end! They were pleased to have won some games considering they were novices to the sport!
