FoTS COMMITTEE 2023/24

Chair – Kayleigh Hartshorn

Vice Chair – Freya Baxter

Treasurer – Nicola Manford

Secretary – Ruth Roberts

All parents automatically become members of FOTS and are welcome to join in as much (or as little) as they wish.

Raising money for the many things not covered by the Local Education Authority is an important part of the FOTS group.

It is a great way to get to know new people and become involved in school life.

FoTS fundraise throughout the year to support the school in providing many additional opportunities for all the pupils, as well as items that will enhance their time at Trefonen School.

We rely on support from parents to enable us to contribute to the school as much as possible and give all the pupils the best school experience!

We really hope that you will support us in any way you can and we hope to see you at our AGM in September. We have some active members of FoTS leaving us and really need some more people to get involved. Most of us are working parents, so meetings only take place a few times a year in the evening. Many people doing a small amount can make a big difference!

We have in recent years run events such as Joules seconds sales, raffles, bingo, discos, summer fayre and offered chances for your little ones to choose gifts for Mothers' and Fathers' day and to create their own Christmas cards.

Useful things to know:

  • There is a FoTS facebook page, follow us on FoTS (Friends of Trefonen School) to keep up to date on any forthcoming events to raise funds to support and enhance the education of all pupils at Trefonen School.
  • Our email address is friendsoftrefonenschool@gmail.com.
  • Look out for FoTS updates in the school newsletter

Fundraising

Our regular events include cake sales, bags2school collections of unwanted clothes and our ‘Wrap’ events for Christmas, Mothers’ day and Fathers’ day. This is when, for a small fee, pupils get to choose a gift for a loved one and take it home ready wrapped for them. In the last few years our fundraising events have also included Christmas and summer fayres, raffles, a family camp out, Joules sales, family trails and Christmas cards designed by each pupil.

Spending

Each year we liaise with school staff to agree on the best use of the funds raised. We also annually provide the new reception pupils with their school book bag, help pay for the year six leavers activities and hoodies and fund a pantomime performance for the whole school.
