2023

We took part in two hockey competitions this year. 

In our first tournament- wow, what determination and effort our Trefonen team showed! Losing only once, drawing twice and winning a match, we finished on the podium (3rd) within our respective group. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Well done, boys and girls!

In the second tournament the new team were also amazing and did us proud! They played four games during the afternoon, winning their first game 3-0, the second 5-0 and third 4-0. The team played so well together, demonstrated some super hockey skills and we hadn't let a goal in! Going into the fourth and final match they knew they were playing a team who had also won all of their games, so this was the deciding match for the trophy. We started the scoring going 1-0 up, but the other team came back and equalised. After this we just couldn't score again, even though we continued to play very well. The game finished 4-1 to the other team. We finished in 2nd place overall, which we were really proud of.

2022

We entered two hockey festivals this year, taking two teams to the events. 

Hockey 2021

Six Trefonen pupils were selected for a four a side hockey tournament, which was held at The Marches. Our first game was tough but we managed to take the lead. The end result was 1-0 to us. Our next game was against Whittington 2nd Team and they were brilliant. We held them from scoring for a while but in the end they beat us 3-0. Our final game in our group was against Crifftins. The final result was 4-0 to us. Our results meant we got through to the trophies round. Our next games was against Whittington, they won 2-0, but we played better than last time. Next we played Cockshutt, this game was tough but we won 2-0. For our very last game we played Oswestry, unfortunately we lost 3-0. We finished 3rd overall. Year 6 sports reporters.
