Year 5 children take part in fixed course orienteering around the heritage site at Llanymynech. Each year the instructors are impressed with the real skills shown in map reading. The fixed course in the woodland builds on the work that we do back in school with our control markers on the field and playground. Children work in pairs or small teams and use map reading skills in an unfamiliar area to locate letters and numbers.
