On Friday 2nd December we had a fantastic Fossils Workshop delivered by Stephanie Bellows from Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre. What an incredible day we had!

We became Scientists exploring fossils. Stephanie had a wonderful selection of fossils which she shared with us. We took a lot of time studying each one. We then used shells and plaster of paris to make our own fossils. We warmed up some plastercine, pushed a shell of our choice inside to create a print, made a tube with card to surround the print then poured the plaster of paris inside. It was dried ready for home time - much quicker than real fossils are made! We ended by exploring more fossils and ordering the process in which they were made.
