Last Thursday was the first meeting of three after school indoor athletics competitions. Eight Year 5/6 children represented us at the competition at the Marches School. Boys and girls of each age group competed in pairs in: ball push, standing long jump and a relay race. The children really were excellent, giving everything their absolute best. We have had the results through and we have some amazing scores. We finished in the top four of ten schools in eight out of the ten events and are currently 2nd place out of all of the schools. It is very close though, so lots more work to do! Keep going team, you are doing so well.
Key Stage Two indoor athletics January 2023
A small team of children have been busy competing in three weeks of after school athletics meetings. They have worked so hard in field events such as speed bounce, standing triple jump, javelin and ball push. They also ran a weekly relay race, sometimes with obstacles to get over or through! All the staff who accompanied the team each week were incredibly proud of how hard the team worked and how much effort they put into performing to their absolute best. We were all delighted to hear after three weeks of competition we finished 3rd out of the nine schools. The team were beaming as they collected their very well deserved medals! Congratulations to you all! Thank you also to all the parents who have supported us by dropping off and collecting the children each week.
Key Stage One athletics 2023
We were delighted to finish 3rd in this year's athletics competition. The children were super- particularly in the relay races where they were very difficult to beat!
Key Stage One Indoor Athletics May 2022
A team of Nightingales took part in an indoor athletic competition at the Marches. We had a wonderful time and everyone in the team took part with lots of enthusiasm. The team took part in activities such as standing long jump, speed bounce, ball throw, target throw, javelin, standing triple jump, in the track events 4 of the children won their races and two came third after running three laps each in the paarlauf event.
We were so proud of our team and delighted to hear that the team came 2nd place overall.
Year 5/6 Indoor athletics 2022
Unfortunately, our team were unable to attend the first of three meeting this year due to high number of Covid cases, however they joined in the final two meetings. The team worked hard, achieving some good results in the different events including 3rd in both boys and girls javelin and 2nd in both the boys and girls Standing Triple Jump and 3rd in girls relay. Not attending the first meeting meant that we couldn't gain enough points to be placed overall, but it was great to be able to take part again.
